It was a small room on the ground floor, with a tiny window under the stairway. The furniture could not have been much simpler: a very old chair, a rickety old bed, and a tumble-down table. A fireplace full of burning logs was painted on the wall opposite the door. Over the fire, there was painted a pot full of something which kept boiling happily away and sending up clouds of what looked like real steam. 第一层是一个小房间，楼梯下有一个很小的窗户。家具简单得不能再简单了：就一把很旧的椅子，一张快要散架的床，和一张摇摇欲坠的桌子。在门对面的墙上画了一个壁炉，壁炉里满是燃烧着的木头。壁炉上方，又画了一口锅，正在将一锅东西欢快地煮干，里面升腾出的云团像真实的水蒸气一样。
