事件背景：

  1889年6月15日， Adelbert Theodor Edward ("Theo") Wangemann 受爱迪生的委托前往欧洲维护在巴黎万国博览会上的留声机展品，他本来计划是只在欧洲待上几周就离开，结果由于某些机缘巧合他直到1890年2月27日才离开欧洲。期间他受邀为当时的一些名人展示爱迪生的新发明——留声机，并为他们留下了声音记录。 

   在Wangemann先生到达欧洲的当年10月21-22日两天，他与其团队受到了普鲁士元帅毛奇伯爵的邀请前往位于西里西亚的克莱骚。W angemann在那里展示了之前录制的声音记录（大概毛奇觉得效果可以），接下来毛奇本人也参与了录制。
