【雅思口语5-8月】冰激凌 ? Ice cream

Do you like ice creams?
Absolutely. Nothing beats an ice cream cone on a hot summer’s day! They also come in tons of flavors. My personal favorites are chocolate and rum raisins. And When I’m feeling really adventurous, I’d also try some weird, bizarre flavors like cheese and hot sauce. For me, the best thing about ice creams is the crunchy bits you can add on top: Some nuts, crushed Oreos or rainbow sprinkles could really bring that extra texture.
Did you eat ice creams when you were a child?
Yes, but not as much as I would like, because back then you really had to go downtown to get some proper ice-creams. I still remember how I used to pester my parents incessantly to buy me ice-creams whenever we went out in summer. If they said no, I’d throw a tantrum on the spot. It led to some embarrassing moments that still stuck with me till this day.
Are there any shops selling ice creams near where you live?
Yeah of course. In my neighborhood, there are a couple of convenience stores that sell ice-cream bars. And then there’s also a McDonald's within walking distance. They have some pretty good ice-creams on sale, like Sundae and McFlurry. Every now and then they would also roll out new flavors.
But if you mean shops specializing in ice-creams, then you’ll have to drive to the shopping mall where there’s a gelato shop. I once treated myself to a pistachio gelato there and it was so good, so creamy. Sadly, it’s more on the pricey side so I don’t really go there on a regular basis.
Can you make ice creams by yourselves?
Not really! I once attempted to make one, by pouring milk and whatnot into a container and then putting the whole thing into the fridge. Turned out that’s just not how it worked. Then I googled it and felt utterly daunted by how complex the whole process actually was. So... I quit and bought one instead. I suppose we should just leave it to the professionals. It’s much more efficient that way.
