13 Lesson 3 - Perfect Color and Light, Each Time Part 2 - Natural Light P13 - 00:01自然光。
When we discuss color, the first thing to know is that while everything has a colour, each object or book on your shelf, your computer, your monitors, your fancy pencil box, your copy, your RGB computer case. They all have their own unique color. 万事万物都有自己的颜色，计算机 显示屏 铅笔盒 复印机 计算机主机，都有自己独特的颜色。Or when you go outside, each leaf on a tree is distinct from each other. Cars are different colors from each other. Buildings are different colors. It can become very distracting to our eye. And we feel this urge that capture everything perfectly. We need to make sure that all of these are hyper accurate to their color. 户外树叶有自己的颜色，楼房有自己颜色，吸引人们的眼球，我们想捕捉这些美好，要保证颜色非常精确。But one thing that you need to understand and accept is that the real world is incredibly messy. Things are chaotic. And we have all kinds of things just lying around. But with in movies and video games and paintings, these things are completely designed. One of the first things I ever learned about color was in elementary school. When our teacher were technically just elementary school teacher at the time, she was teaching us how to color these baby coloring books.小学老师教我们看儿童绘图的书籍，至少两种颜色重复，这是对的，我们看看左侧图有两种以上颜色重复的，右侧图没有一个颜色重复的，右侧的吸引力明显不如左侧的。 And she said something that my seven year old self would never forget, which is that you should never have a color all by itself. It should usually stand out at least two times on the canvas to look good. And honestly, this is so true. So here I have two like kind of kid colour examples. And in this example here, I use pretty much every single color, at least twice, with the exception of his best. But the colors repeat. Whereas on this side here, none of the colors repeat. And this is kind of more similar to something that you would see in a typical children's coloring book does, not say that children color things wrong. But there is something a little bit less appealing about this image. You don't feel comfortable looking at this, but the reality is that in real life, colours work this way.
P13 - 02:05颜色是这样工作的。
Colors work in a way where everything is different colors. And then when light hits it, they also become different colors. So you get different colors like everywhere. You don't really get repeated colors that often. But when you're trying to design something, because you're an artist, you're trying to make something better than a photograph. You're gonna want to stick to this kind of principle where all the colors kind of at least repeat once and that you really take out the unnecessary garbage colors and just keep certain colors for certain things.因为我们周边的环境重复的很少，但是你作为艺术家，你的设计，剔除掉不和谐的颜色，把挑选出的颜色进行两次重复，这样设计出来的赏心悦目。

In fact, no matter what you are watching, whether it comes to character design or environment design, but you'll see the same principle holds true, where colors repeat themselves. And that these characters all have a kind of singular color motif. They're not a blob of rainbow colors, 大道至简，我们看看这3个角色有各自的主打风格。并不是一团彩虹色。for example, on a is gonna be more focused on her magenta hues. Chen li is very famous for her blue jacket and bowser is ever so famous for his wonderfully yellow golden skin and his very classic green shell. 比如一个是洋红色的外套，一个是蓝紫色的夹克，一个是黄色的衣服和绿色的外壳。

Otherwise, if you don't adhere to this kind of principle and you just go on to make any color you want, you're going to end up with something like this. Oh, god! What in the world is happening? When no color repeats? It just looks like kind of a mess. Like what in the world is happening? Oh, my goodness! 如果你不遵从重复的原则，开始想当然的涂抹彩虹色，看起来给人乱糟糟的感觉。

But when you design something, I feel so much better. The colors are controlled, they' re curated, it was so much better. Now, a super easy way to make this happen and to have all of your colours harmonize is to use the almighty powerful sun or fake stunts, which are just artificial lights. But you see, when light hits something, it bathes it in the lights color. 可以用阳光或者人造小太阳光源，阳光打在事物身上，事物沐浴在阳光里。So let's take a look at these movies screen shots. See how they're almost colored completely that you have a scene here on the screen shot from moonlight. They probably did use in their film.
P13 - 04:40滤镜的运用。
You can even have a filter that goes towards white and not just towards a single color. Have you ever taken a photo of something beautiful? And then when you look at your phone is just so lackluster, like food photos. Look, so grey until you use a filter and increase the saturation and change the warmth like whatever I take food photos. I definitely had to do some tweaking, because my phone doesn't make them look as good as they do in real life. 也可以用阳光色单一色。不用增加饱和度的照片看起来索然无味，相机不带自动滤镜增加饱和度，我手动加上滤镜色，还原食物真实的美，起到开启食欲的效果。

In fact, Adam Ragusea, one of my favorite you tuber has a fantastic episode on this for you. Check out if you are interested.我喜欢的博主针对这方面有所研究，如果感兴趣你可以去看一看。 The idea is that you go to your filter, you make the entire color warmer, more saturated. And then voila. It's like sunlight fading into you and makes you feel happy.调节滤镜，增加暖光和饱和度，让人心情会好起来。

I heard a story one time I believe was from an interview. If you are truly use every color of the rainbow, your piece will become a mishmash that we cannot even comprehend.艺术家说，颜色不是这样工作的，如果这样就是大杂烩让人摸不着头脑。 Some of the most eye catching advertisements are really just a giant blocks of a single color.引人注目的广告都是单一的主打色。 Or think about smartphone apps. A lot of them are just a little brick of color on your phone. your peace can follow the same principle is really about simplicity and not about complicating things too much, try and really gear for just a few different colors. And you'll end up with something much more understandable and compelling. 遵从化繁为简的原则，就选择几个不同的颜色组合在一起，做出通俗易懂扣人心弦的。Color does not need to be complicated to make something look good. The only time when it perhaps does need to be a little bit complicated is under neutral light setups.

Now, do you remember when I talked about how filters and lights can just bathed the entire scene like sunlight hitting something? Well, what if you had no real light or your light was kind of just white? And we have nothing as a filter? That's what neutral lighting is. It is essentially a kind of like a cloudy day. And when you have no light, you don't have any harsh shadows.没有刺眼的光，也没有显眼的阴影。So everything kind of looks fuzzy is just a very soft fuzzy and haze to it. Let's take a look again at up in the beginning. Our main character is young and he's in love. And there's so much light in colour everywhere. But once his wife dies. But our main character falls into this gloom and everything around him reflects this too. There aren't any harsh shadows that you can find in this scene. Neutral lighting typically depicts the average and the dull. So if that's the purpose of your peace than perfect, and if it's not the purpose of your piece, then you should avoid it. 中性灯光描述的平庸和无趣，如果这是你要描述主角内心，就用这方案。如果不是你的目标，改掉。

Now let's move on to some of the other quote, quote filters that you see in this world which really are essentially the times a day. 给你看一天之中如何用滤镜展示的。Now I'm not gonna waste your time by telling you what day and night and sunsets and rain look like. The first of this is always going to start with dawn dawn is before sunrise. This is before the sun comes in and lights the sky. And that brilliant blue that we all know. Next would be you guessed it sunrise, when the sun actually comes out into the sky and casts its light. Now the counterpart to a sunny day is a rainy day, not a cloudy day, but the rainy day, the rainy day is essentially the cloudy day, or as we learned as neutral lighting,雨天是多云天，对应我们学的中性光。 but on steroids. with the added effect. Now that everything is wet, the shadows are typically exceptionally dark, and the sky is usually just a bright white or a looming grey. And you can tell it's raining, but you don't feel sad or depressed. But now we're back to following the sun.

They're relying on black and white. Again, this is to support the theory that black and white inner peace is the staple of your piece. And it's mandatory to have your piece read well, so very little color during night time.所以蓝色象征晚上。 And typically just a monotone, a strong blue. This is the defining feature of the night.

In fact, some movies, because it's really hard for the cameras to pick up night time. They will literally shoot during the day in neutral lighting and then just do a post editing filter. To make the film look as if it was shot in the dark night. nighttime is perfect for your horror movies. 晚上适合拍摄恐怖影片。或者虚与委蛇的镜头。有时候白天拍摄好了，再后期合成蓝色的背景，否则很难拍摄清楚。It's great to be really sneaky. It's also great for things of tranquility. Scenes of quiet. Now we almost never have a time where we're in complete darkness.
