当角色设计师Character Designer Nicolas Marlet精心打造了一个多样化但是互补的维京人村民阵容时，有一个特别的特点在整个阵容中是很一致的——他们显然没有脖子。为了实现这场漫画般的美式足球运动员比赛，“这些模特们的脖子比例要有规律，以及他们的颈椎骨长度要正确，这样他们才能更好的操作来完成要想完成的工作，然这样以后，他们摆姿势的时候脖子就不会看起来那么大，”制作设计师Kathy Altieri解释道

While Character Designer Nicolas Marlet crafted a varied but complementary cast of Viking villagers, one particular trait is quite uniform throughout the lineup--their apparent lack of necks. In order to achieve this race of caricatured American football players, "the models had to be built with regular neck proportions and correct spine lengths so their rigs would work well, and then they were posed to look like less neck is actually there, " explains Production Designer Kathy Altieri.
