【雅思口语 5-8月】汽车旅行 ? Describe a car journe

One car journey that really stuck out for me was the time when my household went on a road trip around the city Dalian before we settled there to learn more about it.

I didn’t use to hang out with my family very often, so that’s when we could finally spend some quality time together. Dad was behind the wheel, mom took the passenger seat and I sat in the back seat. I remember looking out of the window, and listening to my parents chatter away. I also chipped in occasionally. We had a good laugh along the way.  

Then, after we arrived at the city, we stopped at some popular destinations, and that includes Xinghai Square, which offers a great view of the ocean. After dinner, we strolled along the seafront. I still remember how blown away I was by the stunning seaside view under the sunset. Though the annoying seagulls overhead kind of ruined the moment for me! Earlier that day, we also went to the aquarium and said hello to the adorable seals and penguins.

There are several things I liked about the journey. What struck me the most was how spontaneous it was. Traveling independently really allowed us to be flexible with our itinerary. One day we originally set out for a tourist attraction but suddenly decided It wasn’t worth the effort so we just lazed around and enjoyed some seafood instead.

So overall I’d say I really enjoyed this car trip. It not only created some amazing memories  but also got me falling madly in love with the city in a matter of days.
