The AC 800PEC combines high-speed control requirements for processes such as power electronics applications with low-speed process control tasks typically performed by independent PLC units. The AC 800PEC controller is configured and programmed using ABB's Control Builder M programming tool, which complies with IEC 61131-3, MATLAB, 

The AC 800PEC interfaces with ABB's I/O system through the optical S800 ModuleBus, and with ABB's communication module through the Communication Expansion Bus (CEX). It also supports third-party Anybus-S fieldbus modules. The control system can be programmed using Simulink and Simulink encoders. Access to controller hardware requires the AC 800PEC toolbox. Using Simulink external mode can achieve user-friendly monitoring.
