      除了开头和结尾，本文是我直接由英语写成的，中文稿自始不存在。因此语言较简单，大约是中考阅读理解水平。下面正文开始。

番外 Side Story

      当我醒来，我发现自己长得和塞姆一模一样，小玉站在我的面前。

      “This is the necklace of friendship, you and I are just like this pair of necklaces, cannot be apart.” 小玉用英语和我说。

      天哪，我竟然进入了《成龙历险记》的世界！而且我就是天空恶魔西木！

      我知道接下来要发生什么，我必须要避免这一切。

      “Could we go to the Moose World (驼鹿公园) now?” 我不得不用英语说话，用英语思考。

      “I’d love to, but I must get Jackie’s permission first.” Jade (小玉) walked towards Uncle's Rare Finds (老爹的古董店).

      “Wait a minute! Can we go to the park directly? I guess you have a phone. You can contact Jackie (成龙) with it.”

      “Yeah, I do. Then…we go!”

      Jade and I played in the park and I thought about how I could stay in the world with Jade forever and never be trapped in the demon netherworld (恶魔地狱).

      “Seymour, your English accent suddenly sounds so strange. I am also Chinese but I don’t think I have the Chinese accent as heavy as you.”

      “Oh, I am a Chinese. And I immigrated to the US recently. Can you speak Mandarin?”

      “No, I can only speak Cantonese.”

      “Then we speak English still, my Cantonese is even poorer than English.”

      The night was coming and we walked out of the park, I got some money with magic and was ready to buy Jade a cup of milk tea.

      Suddenly, I felt an item attaching to my hip. Oh! It was my tail!

      I could sense the smell of magic and I was affected and couldn’t move.

      “Seymour (塞姆), what’s the matter with you?” Jade looked at me in surprise.

      “Aiiee-yaahh!” I heard Uncle shouting. “Hsi Wu (西木)! I told you I did not like him.”

      “The flute, Jackie!”

      “Uncle, Isn’t the boy the friend of Jade?”

      “No, Uncle Jackie! I am Jade’s friend, not the sky demon!” I shouted before I realized I had let out the truth.

      “Didn’t you hear, Jackie? He said ’sky demon’. If he were a human, he would know nothing about demons!”

      I heard the sound of the flute, I felt a headache. I loved flute before but now I had the same nature as Hsi Wu.

      “You…you’re…”. Jade was shocked.

      “A demon, but also your friend.”

      I flew, with the magic of the flute. I knew I was flying to the demon netherworld.

      “So long, Jade!” I shouted before I was out of her sight.

 

      Now I was in the netherworld. I changed back to bat and tried to fly with my wings.

      “Not Bad! I can fly so fast. But there is no one, just so many floating stones.”

      “Oh, there are my brothers and sisters!” I remembered. And I knew, the next to get out of the netherworld would be Bai Tza (芭莎) and Jade would follow her here.

      Not too long after, I encountered my brothers and sisters.

      “Hi, Brother Wu. You are also defeated by the awful old man?” They said.

      “After I get out, I must punish them as well as Shendu (圣主).” Bai Tza said.

      “Yeah, I lost freedom, and I also lost her.” When I said the last word, my voice was so slight that no one could hear me.

      I didn’t want to say anything to my brothers, just waiting for Jade’s arrival.

 

      “Bad day!” Bai Tza came here, with her temper lost.

      “Hsi Wu, inform all the demons to have a meeting!” She ordered me.

      I called every demon to gather in front of Shendu’s mirror, he said we could all get out through his portal. Of course, I knew he was lying, but I didn’t mention this to others.

      Suddenly, Po Kong (波刚) looked strange, she tried to scratch her back but she was too fat to make it.

      “Hsi Wu, see what is on Po Kong’s back.” Bai Tza ordered me.

      I knew it must be Jade, but I still flew over to Po Kong’s shoulder. I was the weakest among the demons, I didn’t dare to oppose them.

      Then Po Kong looked enjoyable, I knew it was Jade who treated her. And Po Kong cast me like a mosquito.

      The meeting was over and I sought for Jade alone, her Moose camera hit me on the head.

      I followed the direction where the camera came and saw Jade on a floating stone.

      “Jade! Say Chi spell!”

      “Ahh!” Jade seemed afraid.

      “Don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you.” I turned into Seymour as soon as I landed on the stone.

      “Still wanna go to the dance with me?” I said.

      “I…’d love to, but you…you’re a demon.” Jade’s head was downward.

      “I guess you have known something about the 8th door. And you couldn’t find it.”

      “Yeah, Uncle had told me.”

      “Do you want to get out? I can help you.”

      “But uncle says only one being can go through that door.”

      “I know. And he says that being must be you, and that is just what I want to say.”

      “You…” Jade held my hands.

      “You stay here may be eaten by other demons, probably Po Kong, but I won’t have any danger.”

      “Seymour, oh, Hsi Wu, although you are a demon, although just now Uncle said you are good at taunting, my heart tells me you are my friend, you are the one deserving trust.” Jade had tears in her eyes.

      “Don’t be sad, I believe we will see each other again one day. And I have a small request, can you leave me the Moose camera?”

      “Of course”.

      I seized Jade and flew. Suddenly, I remembered one man.

      I knew Daolon Wong could release Shendu, so maybe he could also release me.

      “Dear siblings, let me introduce the human Jade!” I flew to where the demons had a meeting.

      “Looks tasty!” Po Kong said.

      Then Uncle appeared in front of me, only Jade and I could see him.

      “Ahh!” Uncle saw me catching Jade.

      “Shendu cheated you, only one of you can get out of the portal,” Jade said, and she made a posture of making Uncle not worried.

      Uncle smiled and disappeared.

      “Who told you of this?” Tso Lan (咒蓝) said.

      “Uncle did.”

      “The old man?” Bai Tza said.

      “I had known we cannot trust in Shendu the guy!”

      “We must handle this problem.”

      “The elder should be the first.” Tso Lan said.

      Suddenly, the door opened and Shendu flew in.

      “The door is open!”

      “Every demon for himself!” I flew quickly towards the door with Jade.

      And I felt being hit from my back and fell towards the bottom.

      “Ahh!” I heard Jade shouting.

      “Don’t worry, we will win the race!” I adjusted my state and I could feel I was recovering fast.

      I flew normally again and left my siblings far behind.

      I placed Jade on a stone in front of the portal.

      “So long, Jade.”

      “Wish to see you again, Hsi Wu.” She jumped out and the door closed.

      I flew back and Shendu had been surrounded by other demons.

      “Shendu! Say Chi spell!” I took the Moose camera in front of him.

      “Hsi Wu! You must also get punished with Shendu! You dare to release the girl!”

      “Dear brothers and sisters, if I hadn’t released her, it would be I who get out, not you.”

      “But at least I would have dinner!” Po Kong said.

      “Hsi Wu, you’re just like Shendu, you have betrayed us!” Tchang Zu said.

      They used their magic to attack Shendu and me. It was such unforgettable pain. Shendu and I were hardly dead, but we could never die. We could only live forever under their fire of anger.

      “Brothers and sisters, I think up a method to release us all! The Book of Ages.”

      They stopped attacking. And finally, they took Shendu’s suggestion.

      When waiting for Shendu to revise the Book of Ages, they didn’t punish me, only questioned me.

      “Hsi Wu, I can’t imagine you helped a human girl, especially she is our enemy’s niece!”

      “Tell the truth, Hsi Wu. Do you fall in love with her?”

      “Your English accent is also strange. You sound like a Chinese.”

      “You should explain all these things to us!”

      “Dear brothers and sisters, please forgive me. Please forgive me for my strange feelings. I do feel that girl is more interesting than ruling the world. As for the accent, I don’t know why. Maybe because I have mastered Mandarin Chinese now.”

      I made up these sentences. Ruling the world is nothing to me. I am just a university student. I do not know why I entered the world of Jackie Chan Adventures. And I am a native speaker of Mandarin, not English!

      “It is a shame for demons to have feelings of warmth and love, Hsi Wu!”

      “But don’t you find ruling the world is something lonely?” They seemed a little nice to me, maybe Hsi Wu, or I, had been polite to them before, not like Shendu, the selfish guy. So I dared to say such a sentence.

      “Hsi Wu! My dear brother. I don’t know what kind of magic the girl put on you! We can’t understand.”

      “Maybe one day you will understand me,” I said.

 

      Then, suddenly, I felt the world was reversed, and I was in my sky tower taking a bath.

      Viper (小蛇) was in a cage singing for me.

      “Viper, you may have got tired, take a break!” I said to her.

      “Master, you…I….I am so grateful.” Viper sounded so touched.

      I jumped out of the bathtub and walked close to Viper. She dropped to her knees.

      “Don’t be afraid.” I broke the cage using my magic power. “Get out, you are free. Maybe I don’t need slaves anymore.”

      She walked away with tears in her eyes.

      Then a bat smaller than me walked near, I guessed he was my general.

      “Master, I have been ready to raise some new servants for you!”

      “You needn’t. Now I’ll pay a visit to Shendu, guard the sky tower for me!”

      “Yes, master!”

 

      When I arrived there, Jade was about to deal with Shendu’s toes.

      “So smelly!” Jade covered his nose with her hand.

      “Oh, you come, Brother Wu.” Shendu greeted me but he didn’t look at me. I guessed he also looked down upon me for everything I had done that lost the status of a demon.

      “Dear brother, don’t you mind lending me some servants?”

      “I guess you want that girl!” Shendu pointed at Jade.

      “Yeah, my clever brother.” I smiled.

      “Go to your sky emperor’s place!” Shendu kicked Jade flying toward me.

      “Ahh!” Jade shouted. I caught Jade in my hands.

      “Jade!” Jackie shouted.

      “Don’t worry, Jackie Chan.” I flew away with Jade.

      “Ahh! The sky emperor should know my name! As well as my niece’s!”

      “Then, Jackie Chan, it’s your turn to treat my toes,” Shendu said.

 

      I didn’t fly back to my kingdom and just landed in a place outside Shendu’s city.

      “Hsi Wu, I couldn’t imagine I would see you again in such a way, in such a world. I am glad, but….you know.”

      “Jade, needn’t say, I know you have a plan to turn the world back. But I only beg you one thing. When you write ‘Uncle defeats all the demons’, please plus ‘except Hsi Wu’.”

      “Ok, I remember. How’s it going, Seymour, oh, Hsi Wu?”

      “Not bad. I got along well with them before so they are not too harsh to me for releasing you.”

      “You mean they are annoyed at what you’ve done.”

      “Maybe a little, but don’t worry. I am a demon after all.”

      I flew away leaving Jade in Shendu’s Kingdom, hoping she would persuade Uncle and Jackie to accept me.

      Luckily, after I waiting for a long time, I sensed all demons had been trapped. She did add the sentence ‘except Hsi Wu’.

      Then suddenly, I felt the world was reversed and I was in the demon netherworld!

      I knew. I knew that although Jade had added the sentence, everything came back to the time before Shendu revised the book when she fixed the book using her torn part.

      And I waited in the netherworld for so long, so long. Other demons often taunted or punished Shendu. They seldom attacked me but I felt they hated me, they didn’t like me for I had lost demon’s face.

      I just always watched the videos in the camera over and over again and looked down at the necklace hanging on my neck.

      I usually kept the state of Seymour unless I came across Po Kong. I was afraid she would eat me.

      I sometimes talked with Shendu. Now he and I were both the unwelcome ones. I could only talk to him to kill time, kill the loneliness.

      “Hsi Wu, I see you always look at the camera, she is so important to you?”

      “Maybe, my brother.”

      “That may be also OK, you can use the girl to get Jackie’s trust.”

      “It’s your idea, not mine. I just want to be back to the ordinary life.”

      “Be rational, brother. We are demons, we weren’t and will never be ordinary.”

      “You don’t understand me. I am just a student, I don’t know why I become a demon.” I heard myself say but I didn’t make it aloud to be heard by Shendu.

 

      One day, Shendu was out. Other demons were so surprised, but I did not. I knew it was Daolon Wong who released Shendu. I knew my freedom might come soon.

      It was coming. I saw through a mirror. Jade, Jackie, and Uncle standing in front of it. And I saw Daolon Wong controlled by Captain Black with his hands tied.

      “Hsi Wu, my friend, now we are ready to release you!” Jade said.

      “We have devised a kind of magic to control you, don’t have the desire to rule the world!” Uncle said to me.

      “Yeah, you needn’t be worried. I’m just seeking freedom, hugging ordinary. And what is the most important, my sincere friend, Jade.”

      I heard they began to say Chi spell.

      A portal with white light appeared in front of me. I flew. I flew to freedom.

      When I entered the world with white bright light, I opened my eyes.

      “I am free!” I said.

      Only to see Xiaoyu, my roommate.

      “free个毛呀！下午还有六级考试。” 小宇说。

      “你看现在都几点了，12点了。你再不起来午饭都吃不上了！”

      “I…I…”我切换成汉语还有点困难。

      “我好像昨晚看《成龙历险记》太晚了。”

      “看得哪版的?”

      “英文原版。”

      “六级前一天看英语看到后半夜，硬卷是吧！”

      “比你打游戏打到半夜强。”

      “我六级早就550了！今天就随缘刷个分。哪像某人还没过的。”小宇说。

      “等着瞧吧！今天爷完虐你。”我说。

 

      我走向六级考场，还想着梦里的情景。我是西木？恶魔地狱？小玉？铜币项链？一切都似乎那么真实。

 

      我坐在考场里，还有三分钟考试就要开始了。突然，后面的同学举手喊老师。

      “老师，我忘记带涂卡笔了。能和同学借一个吗？”

      她的声音，像极了小玉，但比小玉更加成熟。

      “我有多余的。”我转过身去，只见后座女生柔顺的披肩发、澄澈的眼睛一如小玉。

      考试开始了，我听力竟然全部都能听懂，阅读里也没有一个生词。我不敢相信，令我一向头疼的英语，竟然因为一个梦突飞猛进。

      我早早地完成了阅读和翻译，像母语者一般睥睨着卷子。这次至少670没什么问题了，毕竟听力和阅读248.5稳拿。我陷入了遐想，想着《成龙历险记》，想着我的梦，想着后座的女孩。

      考试结束了。下午的斜阳从考场的西窗照到我的身上。

      “给你，谢谢了！”后座女生把涂卡笔还给我。

      “没事，应该的。”我说。

      “你是…哪个系的？”我停顿了一秒，鼓起勇气问。

      “我是八系的，你呢？”

      “我是二系的。我叫贾小乾。”

      “我叫成小玉。”
