Part1

Drinking water

1. Do you often drink water?

To be honest, I don’t really keep such a habit. I mean I understand human body mainly consists of water and we need to stay hydrated in daily basis, but it is totally tasteless compared to beverages like soda pop and lemonade and it’s less appealing.

2. What kinds of fluid do most of young people like to drink? Why?

Well, I can tell you that there’s so many coffee drinkers, because it contains caffeine we can stay awake with that, and of course we can make so many different mixes by putting milk or chocolate in it. And let’s not forget some juice, I mean some of my friends drink this only to get enough water. For it has certain flavor and sugar and even vitamin they can even call it a healthy lifestyle.

Cooking

1. Do you cook?

Not exactly but if making instant ramen counts I do. I’m not sure if I enjoy doing this kind of household activity, because it always gets involved with oil and other greasy stuff, if I get some of it on my hands I feel disgusted.

2. Is it hard to learn how to cook Chinese food?

As for our cuisine, it’s not that easy to begin with, I mean it takes some techniques to handle the pan and the spoon when we scramble the vegetables and meats. We have to stir it in certain pace to make sure all that’s in the pan is fully heated and cooked. So it’s a little challenging to get the hang of compared to deep frying chicken or chips.

3. Do Chinese people prefer to cook at home or eating outside?

Some of the people who are well off may choose to have meals in restaurant or order takeouts for this choice seems more efficient especially when they lead a fast-paced lifestyle for it takes less time and effort. But of course there’s more and more health nuts nowadays. We have the liberty to choose the ingredients and we can put less oil and sugar and salt in every dish we make.

Part2

1.Describe a time you had medicine

You should say:

When you had it

Who gave it to you

Why you had it

How you felt about it

About this topic, I'd like to talk about a time that I got a cold in summer break. Before that I had a party that was held in my friend's flat in my neighborhood and I got back home at around 11pm in the evening. We all drank some alcohol and I was totally drunk/tipsy/wasted/as drunk as a skunk. But the only thing I felt was cold. I fell asleep anyway. So the next morning I had this serious/tremendous headache and sore muscle all over my body. Of course stuffed nose was also irritating. Then I went to see a doctor and she gave me a prescription of medicines.

There's some white pills that look like mints/gum but definitely doesn't taste like one. I had to take some capsules as well, and they look as red as strawberry but of course they taste bitter. I took them altogether with water for almost two weeks. It was torture to carry those pain and medicines before 3 meals everyday. But it worked eventually. Anyway the lesson I learned from it/the silver lining of this cold is that I should take better care of myself.

Part3

1.Do you think it's a good idea to take medicines to prevent getting ill?

I have to disagree to it. I mean we should let our immune system work it out. If we keep taking medicines before we get caught with any cold or flu, then our body would get used to this kind of chemical stuff, and if one day we stop having it, it would be easier for us to get sick and we might be more vulnerable.

2.Do you think that medicines are harmful?

It makes sense and there's side effects to every kind of medicine. Every kind of herb that can cure disease is meant to do some damage to our system, because only toxic substance can eradicate the virus or bad things like inflammation. So there has to be some residuals inside our body and we might feel nausea and dizzy or even headache.

3.Is there the problem of fake medicine in China?

I'm afraid so. This issue is horrifying and brutal. I mean the patients expect to relieve their pain or even save their lives, but fake ones don't work so their disease may get worse or even doom them or kill them. so it's like murder. Those money-grabbing merchants are only pursuing maximum profit without caring about morality or even the law. It must be punished severely by law.
