Seth: "Better to be spontaneous and spiritual ruffians, than to sit solemnly following beliefs that you do not understand and disciplines that are not your own and that do not spring through the natural order of your own spontaneity.

Discipline then should not only be considered, as it is by some schools of thought, as a mere mental discipline over the muscles, or various portions of the body by the inner self, but indeed a discipline in terms of training of the ego by the inner self, so that the ego as a personality achieves a well-balanced relationship with the physical universe.

那么，纪律不应该像某些学派所认为的那样，仅仅被认为是内在自我对肌肉或身体各个部分的单纯心理训练，而实际上则是一门通过内在自我（inner self）训练自我（ego）的学科。这样，作为一个人格的自我（ego）就可以与物质宇宙实现良好的平衡关系。
