Good afternoon!Welcome to the speech contest!Let's extend our warmest welcome to the guests and judges!Firstly let me introduce the procedures/arrangements of this contest.

There are ten contestants in total who will deliver their speeches entitled “Promoting Traditional Chinese Culture"one by one.Following each speech,judges are supposed to grade it. At the end of the contest,our headmaster will announce the final winners.What excites us most must be the prize-awarding session when the top three will be granted certificates.Let's wait and see who will be the winners!Are you ready for their wonderful performances?

Prof. Smith is a distinguished poet and he will illustrate how to create a beautiful poem and how to enjoy a poem from structure, characteristics and rhymes.Not only can we comprehend the unique and extraordinary charm of poetry but we can also enhance our capacity of writing poems.

During the lecture, all of you are required to listen attentively and take notes if necessary. There will also be a Q&A session in which we are expected to be positively engaged.
