上”)和undare(“流动”,来自unda,“波浪”)组成。

  • The heavy rain caused the river to overflow, inundating the surrounding farmland.

  • They were inundated with phone calls for a week after appearing on TV.

  • We have been inundated with requests for help from readers.

  • When I see your face

  • My heart begins to race

  • You inundate me with your charm

  • And make me feel so warm

  • But when you are away

  • I miss you every day

  • You inundate me with your love

  • And make me soar above

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame.(他被正式选入名人堂。)

The drug can induce nausea.(这种药物可能会引起恶心。)She induced him to buy the painting.(她说服他买了那幅画。)

The clay was indurated by heat.(粘土被热力硬化了。)He was indurated to suffering.(他已经习惯了痛苦。)
