【佛罗伦萨队史】1898-1926 意大利足球的起源 The origins of 'calcio'

Florence is the birthplace of football in Italy. It is where the sport first took shape and gained the name ‘calcio’.

这一切都始于“Calcio Fiorentino”（佛罗伦萨足球），它在 15 世纪后期传播开来，并在接下来的几个世纪里得到发展。 直到 19 世纪末，英国足球才开始影响到佛罗伦萨的现代足球先驱。 1898年，佛罗伦萨足球俱乐部（Florence Football Club）诞生。佛罗伦萨无愧为古老而高贵的意大利足球起源之地。

It all began with ‘Calcio Fiorentino’ (Florentine football), which spread in the late 1400s and developed over the following centuries. It was only at the end of the 19th century that English football started to influence the Florentine pioneers of the modern game. In 1898, Florence Football Club was born, an event that places the ancient and noble origins of calcio in Florence.

In 1909, Florence Football Club was no longer mentioned in local records and, towards the end of 1912 and the beginning of 1913, two of the oldest and most illustrious people’s sporting associations formed their own football teams: Club Sportivo Firenze, a cycling organisation founded in 1870, and Palestra Ginnastica Fiorentina Libertas, a gymnastics society founded in 1877. 

在第一次世界大战结束后，上述的两支球队之间展开了激烈的竞争，直到 1926 年 8 月 29 日，佛罗伦萨体育俱乐部主席路易吉·里多尔菲·瓦伊·达·韦拉扎诺侯爵 (Luigi Ridolfi Vay da Verrazzano) 凭借自己的政治影响力，说服了两家具乐部将各自的足球队合并为佛罗伦萨足球协会（Associazione Fiorentina del Calcio）。 佛罗伦萨（FIorentina）正式成立了。

After the Great War, which put a halt to any football whatsoever, a fierce rivalry built up between the two teams until 29 August 1926 when the Marquis Luigi Ridolfi Vay da Verrazzano, the President of Club Sportivo Firenze with a lot of political influence, persuaded the two clubs to merge their respective football teams into the Associazione Fiorentina del Calcio (Florentine Football Association). Fiorentina was born.
