唧唧复唧唧，木兰当户织。不闻机杼声，惟闻女叹息。问女何所思，问女何所忆。女亦无所思，女亦无所忆。昨夜见军帖，可汗大点兵。军书十二卷，卷卷有爷名。阿爷无大儿，木兰无长兄。愿为市鞍马，从此替爷征。东市买骏马，西市买鞍鞯，南市买辔头，北市买长鞭。
旦辞爷娘去，暮宿黄河边。不闻爷娘唤女声，但闻黄河流水鸣溅溅。旦辞黄河去，暮至黑山头。不闻爷娘唤女声，但闻燕山胡骑鸣啾啾。万里赴戎机，关山度若飞。朔气传金柝，寒光照铁衣。将军百战死，壮士十年归。归来见天子，天子坐明堂。策勋十二转，赏赐百千强。可汗问所欲，木兰不用尚书郎，愿驰千里足，送儿还故乡。
爷娘闻女来，出郭相扶将；阿姊闻妹来，当户理红妆；小弟闻姊来，磨刀霍霍向猪羊。开我东阁门，坐我西阁床。脱我战时袍，著我旧时裳。当窗理云鬓，对镜帖花黄。出门看火伴，火伴皆惊忙：同行十二年，不知木兰是女郎。雄兔脚扑朔，雌兔眼迷离；双兔傍地走，安能辨我是雄雌？
The sound of weaving loom was in the room, Mulan was doing needlework opposite of the door. But the sigh of Mulan can only be heard. What did she either think or ponder? Mulan did neither think nor ponder. But last night she saw the newsprint from the military, the monarch wanted conscripts on a large scale. There were rolls of register, and the name of her father existed on each one reel. Her father had no eldest son, and Mulan had no elder brother. Mulan will go the market to buy a saddled horse, and she want to fight instead of her father. After walking at various places in the market, Mulan gathered all the things a horse need.
At the next morning, Mulan left her parents and camped by the Yellow River at night. She could not hear any voice of them but only the sound of the Yellow River. At the following morn, she left the Yellow River and went on the road. At night she reached the place of Heishan. She could not hear any sound from home but only the noise of the horses. She traveled thousands of miles to the battlefield, surpassing the mountains as quickly as flying. There were combats from the frost of the north, and moonlight reflected on the armor of the soldiers. Soldiers have gone through hundreds of battles, some died for the country, and some returned from fighting many years later. After the victory, she saw the emperor, who sat in the hall. Mulan has great achievements, and the rewards were promised. The emperor asked Mulan what she wanted, and Mulan did not want to be a officer and said she hoped to ride a faster horse and return to the hometown.
When her family heard that Mulan was coming back, her parents supported by the arm of each other to greet her outside the wall; her elder sister dressed up and came to the door; her younger brother was busy to sharpen the knife for preparing meat of dinner. Mulan opened the door of every rooms and went in to take a look, and then she took off the armor, put on the former skirt, straightened her hair in the face of the window and embellished the forehead at the front of the mirror. When she went out to talk the partners, they were surprised. They had been together fighting for several years, but they did never know that Mulan was a girl. When one holds the ears of the rabbit in the air, the male moves its forefeet and the female closes its eyes, so it is easy to distinguish. But if the male and the female run side by side, how can one tell which is the male and which is the female?
