well this is a very good topic that reminds me of my roommate’s birthday party , which was an important event I was late for weeks ago .

when it happened dates back to the end of last month barely two or three weeks ago , it was a Sunday and my roommate was throwing her 19th birthday party in a classy restaurant , I got invited however where I was was a little bit distant .

what happened was that I was in the city of Beijing for an international competition of case studies , the final round against a group of students who came all the way from the states , the whole thing ended in the afternoon after which I took a bullet train heading back to Shanghai where the party was held .

the reason why I was late for the event had to do with traffic , actually the high speed train reached Shanghai right on time , yet there was a traffic congestion between where I was and where I wanted to be which cost a lot of time on the way .

speaking of how I felt about this experience , you know what

firstly ,

I felt worried and anxious along the way since the lady who had her birthday has been a close friend of mine for years and I made her a promise that I’d show up in time , but when facing the mess on the road , there was nothing I could do to get there punctually , for instance ,....

secondly ,

I felt lucky out of this experience because I learned a real life lesson that no matter what we are about to do , making a well organized plan or schedule is indispensable , in case unexpected circumstances come up , for example ,....
