Bavarian Nordic报告了一项2期双盲安慰剂对照临床试验的结果。该试验入组了18-50岁健康成人志愿者，这些志愿者随机接受MVA－BN RSV或安慰剂的单一疫苗接种。在接种疫苗28天后，志愿者通过鼻内注射RSV A型毒株。共有61名受试者可进行评估。

该研究表明，与安慰剂组（n=31）相比，接种疫苗的受试者（n=30）的病毒载量显著降低，达到了这项关键研究的主要终点。同时，接种疫苗的受试者表现出与RSV感染相关的临床症状显著减少。MVA-BN RSV疫苗在预防症状性RSV感染方面的效力高达79%。

Bavarian Nordic之前也报告了MVA-BN RSV在421名55岁及以上老年受试者中的2期临床试验的强有力结果，证明该疫苗具有良好的耐受性，并诱导针对RSV的广泛持久的抗体和T细胞反应、粘膜免疫反应。
