西交利物浦大学生物系Dr.Huang Lab实验室招收一名全额奖学金博士学生。


导师及实验室简介

Dr.Huang本科毕业于北京师范大学物理系(2007),在中国科学院半导体研究所获得理学硕士学位(2010),后在英国谢菲尔德大学师从Neil. Hunter院士获得分子生物学与生物技术博士学位(2018)。2010-2014年期间,Dr.Huang就职于全球知名光谱仪公司HORIBA公司,负责多种光学光谱技术与仪器的开发和研制。博士毕业后短暂就职于牛津大学附属ONI公司,担任超分辨显微技术在生物成像领域的应用科学家。2019-2021年于中国科学院苏州生物医学工程技术研究所,担任副研究员、硕士生导师。2021年加入西交利物浦大学生物科学系,任助理教授,博士生导师。黄博士的个人主页:https://www.xjtlu.edu.cn/zh/departments/academic-departments/biological-sciences/staff/xia-huang

Dr.Huang Lab长期从事光合作用仿生捕光系统的技术开发和能量传导效率研究,专注于在不同材料表面构建纳米结构的人工捕光系统,推动生物太阳能芯片的发展。此外,Dr.Huang正积极开展肿瘤与非肿瘤细胞在微流控芯片上的3D共培养工作,以研究微环境对肿瘤生长、迁移、入侵和异质性耐药的影响。已申请专利十余项、发表论文十余篇(包括 Nat Communications, Nature Plants, Lab on a Chip)。

新加坡科技设计大学全奖博士招生

新加坡科技设计大学(SUTD)段凌杰教授招收工程或数学背景博士生,有机会参与同美国合作的跨学科研究项目,提供资金支持,预计2023年1月入学。


About the project

Established under strong support from MIT, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) plans to do for Singapore what MIT has done for Massachusetts and Silicon Valley, as well as for the world. SUTD is conducting top-tier research and education. At SUTD, Prof. Lingjie Duan (http://esd.sutd.edu.sg/faculty/lingjie-duan/) is a pioneer to lead the inter-disciplinary research area by combining information/AI engineering and economic theory. He leads the Network Economics and Optimization Lab (NEOL) at SUTD, supported by around 10-million dollars’ funding and the prestigious MIT-SUTD Joint Postdoctoral Programme in the past few years. Very recently, he has been awarded several research grants in multi-agent machine learning by MOE and MINDEF. His interdisciplinary research contribution is widely acknowledged, and he received the SUTD Excellence in Research Award in 2016 and the 10th Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2015. He is now an editor of several top engineering journals in information systems. He is looking for self-motivated PhD students who have strong engineering or math background and are passionate in cutting-edge research about multi-agent machine learning, sharing economics, resource allocation, network optimization, and networked artificial intelligence in various information engineering areas. The applicants can be undergraduate and master students about to graduate in related majors, such as (industrial) engineering systems, computer science, electrical engineering, (applied) math, economics, and control. NEOL members have rich opportunities to collaborate with MIT and other top universities. Several past NEOL members have become professors in top universities.

About us

Applications are invited for two open PhD positions in the newly formed Emmy Noether group of Dr. Thomas Schreiner (Department of Psychology, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München). In the project, we will investigate the role of breathing as an essential rhythm of brain function in the context of sleep-related memory consolidation. The successful applicants will work in a multi-disciplinary environment on a project that aims at understanding the fundamentals of human memory consolidation. The project will comprise research with epilepsy patients, patients with obstructive sleep apnea as well as healthy populations, involving invasive as well as non-invasive techniques (EEG / iEEG). The research is funded by the Emmy Noether program of the German Research Foundation (project title: “Breathe to Consolidate: Respiration as a royal pathway to the sleeping brain”).


Tasks and responsibilities

conduct research (including data acquisition, analyses and interpretation) in the context of memory consolidation, including sleep recordings at night

prepare and participate in project-based publications

participate in and present research at national and international conferences and workshops

support and help organize project based events and activities


Qualifications

an academic university degree (master or equivalent) in the field of psychology, biology, (cognitive) neuroscience, biomedical engineering or related disciplines.

enthusiasm for fundamental research.

enthusiasm for conducting research with humans, both patients and healthy participants.

motivated to conduct sleep experiments at night.

motivated to study human electrophysiology (some prior experience is a plus).

willingness to learn programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, R) and advanced multivariate analysis techniques (some prior experience is a plus).

motivated to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

fluent in written and spoken English; German language skills (or the willingness to learn) are a plus due to patient contact.
