Drills
1.A vessel is on our port/starboard side.
有条船在我船左/右舷。
2.An overtaking vessel is on our port quarter.
我船左舷船尾有艘追月船。
- quarter n. 四分之一，地区
3.A ship's green light is on our beam , prot/starboard bow.
我船正横，左/右西舷船首可见他船绿灯。
4.A finshing boat is ahead of us.
我船前方有艘渔船。
- ahead of ... 在。。之前
- fishing gear 渔具
5.An unknown object is at our port/starboard side.
我船左/右舷有不明物体。
6.A vessel is cossing from port side.
有船自左舷穿越。
7.Rig the pilot ladder on leeside/port side/starboard side ...meters above water.
引航员软梯安放在下风舷/左舷/右舷，水上。。。米。
8.Manropes are(not) required.
（不）需要扶手绳。
9.Put lights on at the pilot ladder.
在引航员软梯上安放照明灯。
10.Rig the accommodation ladder in combination with the pilot ladder.
引航员软梯和舷梯合装。
- accommodation ladder 舷梯 （用在船舷两侧）
- pilot ladder 引航梯
- embarkation ladder 登程梯
- gangway 舷梯 (用在船尾)
11.Have a heaving line/lifebuoy ready at the pilot ladder.
在引航员软梯处准备好撇缆/救生圈。
这些名词均含有“船”之意：

boat
- 泛指任何大小的船只，尤指靠划桨或风帆行进的无篷小船。
- You can take a boat trip along the coast.
你可以乘船沿海岸旅游一趟。
ship
- 含义广，一般指大轮船，如航海船只，内河航运船只
- Within ninety minutes the ship was ready for departure.
90分钟之内轮船准备出发。
canos
- 指长而轻，用桨的小舟、独木船。
- We saw the canoe overturn, throwing its passengers into the water.
我们看到独木舟倾覆了，把上面的乘客掀入水中。
steamer
- steamer : 指靠蒸汽发动机为动力的船只。
- The steamer arrived at the quay with the tourists packed like sardines.
汽船驶抵码头，船上的旅客拥挤不堪。
vessel
- 多指运货或运人的大船
- A Moroccan fishing vessel and a South Korean cargo ship collided in rough seas.
一艘摩洛哥渔船与一艘韩国货船在波涛汹涌的大海上相撞了。
craft
- 船只的集合名词，但可指单独的船只。
- Hundreds of small craft bobbed around the liner as it steamed into the harbour.
班轮驶进港口时，周围的许多小船颠簸起来。
