“开放、融合、面向未来”是当下世界艺术的总体特征，在这种趋势的引领下，有一场大型群展成了最瞩目的打卡盛宴，这场展览融合了不同国家的艺术家之间的对话，艺术家与公共空间的对话，以及艺术作品与大众的对话，这就是“艺以通衢”——2022武汉双年展！开展在即，那些美轮美奂的艺术作品、流光溢彩的艺术装置上寄托了一个个绮梦，展现着的丰富的艺术样态，我们这就来给大家剧透本次专题展览的作品花絮！这场展览，值得被全世界看见。

2022武汉双年展以“艺以通衢”为主题，策划“文化样态”“城市形态”“创新动态”“绿色生态”“开放姿态”五个专题，深度探讨世界、人类、自然、科技、文化等多态合一、多态共生的关系命题，其中，“开放姿态”专题在合美术馆展出，展现多元、多样的艺术融合，带来不同空间、面向未来的艺术生态。

2022武汉双年展于12月28日正式拉开帷幕。以“艺以通衢”为主题的大型群展将在武汉美术馆（琴台馆）、武汉美术馆（汉口馆）、合美术馆三馆同时开展。其中“开放姿态”专题邀请了58位艺术家，展出80余组作品，结合国际知名画廊资源，充分展现来自世界不同文化背景的艺术家作品，体现出艺术家对于世界不同的观看和理解方式聚焦未来视野探索艺术表达和交流的各种可能性。

NEBULA/Two birds in a Tree

Over 15 years ago I started to work on a series related to physics and on a very basic level the geometric similarity of neutron star and a biological cell (cells/stars macro/micro).  I was thinking about this connection that this relationship was a way of understanding the universe and a way to understand our body, our lives, our existent. I am sure that I am not the first artist, philosopher or scientist to gaze into the universe and ponder such big questions and surely will not be the last.

Nevertheless, at that time I decided to use this as a starting point and I mixed the shape of Buckminsterfullerene (commonly called a Bucky Ball after the architect Buckminster Fuller) as it is the most common naturally occurring fullerene with the shape of common retroviruses. From that initial point of trying to mix these elements together my work has evolved to my latest installation “NEBULA/two birds in a tree”. As was the case with my earlier works related to this thinking, I continue in this new piece to mix a Buckminsterfullerene with the structure of retroviruses. I used 3d printed objects connected together to create a physical form resulting in the similar appearance to a Nebula gaseous cluster and that of an organic tree with branches and leaves. This geometric/organic structure was connected to a large digital wall drawing of two birds joined together to form the shape of a Ying and Yang symbol, positive and negative.

For the first time the final result was to use a digital wall drawing as well as 3d printing to materialize digital codes to produce a  (Post Digital) mutated sculptural objects.

星云/树上的两只鸟

15 多年前，我开始创作一系列与物理学、以及中子星与生物细胞（细胞/恒星，宏观/微观）本原上的几何相似性有关的作品。我一直在想，这种关联或者说这种关系是一种理解宇宙的方式，也是一种理解我们的身体、我们的生活、我们的存在的方式。我肯定不是第一个凝视宇宙并思考如此重大问题的艺术家、哲学家或科学家，也绝对不会是最后一个。

不管怎样，当时的我决定以此为起点，并将之与巴克敏斯特富勒烯的形状（该形状通常以建筑师巴克敏斯特富勒的名字命名为巴基球）相结合，因为它是最常见的天然富勒烯，且具有常见的逆转录病毒的形状。从试着将这些元素混合在一起的初步尝试起，该作品系列即持续进化至这件最新的装置作品 NEBULA /two birds in a tree。沿袭我前序作品的创作思路，我将巴基球与逆转录病毒的结构混合在一起，用连接在一起的3D打印物来构建一个物理形态，使其呈现与星云气态簇以及树枝树叶的有机形态相似的外观，这个几何的有机结构又与背后首尾相连的两只鸟的数字图像组合在一起，共同构成阴与阳的正负形符号。

在这件成品中，我首次把数字壁画与将数字代码物质化的3D 打印混合使用来制作这件“变异的”雕塑物（我称之为后数字式创作）。
