For a while, the US,

This decision, following the US practice of walking away from international commitments in recent years, is just another proof of its

5.One cannot help but wonder if this is a rebirth of the notorious ghost of McCarthyism.  人们不禁要问，是不是美国历史上臭名昭著的“麦卡锡主义”正在回潮？

麦卡锡主义是指1950年至1954年间肇因于美国参议员麦卡锡的美国国内反共、极右的典型代表，它恶意诽谤、肆意迫害疑似共产党和民主进步人士，乃至一切有不同政见的人。麦卡锡主义作为一个专有名词，也成为政治迫害的同义词。
