What's interesting is that it is now 25 years since you got your MBA and as part of your MBA experience,you were asked to write a 25 year plan.

and he was a great professor and one of the things that he asked us to do was to write a 25 year plan,maybe some of you had to do those.

他是为特别了不起的教授，他让我们做的其中一件事就是写一份25年的计划，你们可能也要写这个吧。

And it was more of a...you know,more of a personal plan and the...

这是一份比较个人的人生计划。

Normally I would never remember this but I was doing a commencement address few years ago,and I was scrambling for some old things and I found in a box,this plan.

一般这种事我永远不会记住，但几年前我要做一个毕业演讲，我就努力回想一些以前发生的事，然后就在一个盒子里发现了这个计划。

And this plan had turned yellow because of age,but I looked at it and i would say it was reasonably accurate for all of 18 to 24 months after it was written.

多年过去，写计划的那张纸都发黄了，但我(再一次)看着它，应该说从写计划那刻开始到之后18~24个月里发生的事情还是和计划挺一致的。

And it was nothing...there was nothing,not a single thing on it that was accurate,post out not a single thing.Zero！

然后它就完全不一样了，没有一项和实际发生的一样，完全不同。零项！

And I think that the lesson there is at least for me,maybe you guys will be different,maybe you have much more insight into what you may be doing,but for me,the journey was not predictable at all.

我想我从这件事情中学到的是，至少对我来说，或许对你们来说不同，或许你对自己想要做的有更深的了解，但对我来这是一次完全不可预测的旅行。

And the...It goes sort of back to the Lincoin quote is the only thing I believe you can do is prepare.

And the world is going to change many times the environment is going to change many times.

世界将会改变很多次，环境将会改变很多次。

Yeah...The companies you work for are going to ebb and flow.

你工作的公司将潮起潮落。

You may wind up in the same company,you may not.

你可能最终一直在一个公司工作，或不是。

You may wind up in the same career,you may not.

你可能最终一直在做一样的工作，或不是。

You may wind up with the spouse you are married to now,you may not.

你可能最终和你现在的伴侣厮守终生，或不是。

There are lots of things in your life,I hope that one doesn't change,but there's lots of things that change and I think that you sort of have to have a north star and stay with the north star and let those things go on about you and sort of find your journey.

你的生命中会发生太多的事，我希望这件事还是不要变了，但是，有太多的事会改变了。我觉得你需要一颗北极星那样的东西，然后，只要紧紧跟着你的北极星，任由其他事物变化，就会达到你的目的地(实现你的目标)。
