 Mary Had a Little Lamb

 

 

 

玛丽与丈夫迪米特里住在希腊南部一个叫波拉考拉的小村庄里。

 

 

 

Mary and her husband Dmitry living in a little village called Perachora in the south of the Greek.

 

 

 

玛丽最珍贵的财产之一就是丈夫送给她的一只白色小羔羊。

 

 

 

One of her most precious possession was a white lamb given by her husband.

 

 

 

白天，玛丽把羔羊拴在地里的一颗树上，每天晚上把它牵回家。

 

 

 

During the daytime, Mary fastens the lamb on a tree in the farmland, and holding it home every night.

 

 

 

可是，一天晚上，那只小羔羊失踪了。

But that limb disappeared one night.

 

 

绳子被人割断，

The rope had been severed,

 

 

很明显小羔羊是被人偷走了。

it’s evident that the limb was stolen by   someone.

 

 

迪米特里从地里回来，

After Dmitry returned from the farmland,

 

 

妻子把情况跟他一说，

as his wife told him the situation,

 

 

他马上出去找偷羔羊的人。

he immediately went out to find the one   who had stolen the lamb.

 

 

他知道在这样一个小村庄里抓住小偷并不困难。

He know that it’s easy to catch the thief   in such a small village.

 

 

把失窃的事告诉几个朋友后，

 

 

Telling the stolen effect to some   friends,

 

迪米特里发现他的邻居阿列科家突然多了一只小羔羊。

 

 

 

Dmitry found that in his neighbor, Aleko’s home has improved a small lamb suddenly. 

 

 

 

迪米特里立刻去了阿列科家，气呼呼地指责他偷了羔羊，

 

 

Dmitry went to Aleko’s immediately, and   censured his stolen the lamb furiously,

 

 

 

 

告诉他最好把羊交还，否则就去叫警察。

and told him it’s better to returned the   lamb, or he will call the police.

 

 

阿列科不承认，并把迪米特里领进院子。

Aleko didn’t admit it and led Dmitry into   the courtyard.

 

 

不错，他的确刚买了一只羔羊，

It’s no doubt that he had just bought a   lamb,

 

 

阿列科解释说，但他的羔羊是黑色的。

 

but Aleko explained that, his lamb is   black.

 

迪米特里为自己的鲁莽而感到不好意思，

 

Dmitry felt embarrassed for his reckless,

 

向阿列科道了歉，说是错怪了他。

and he apologized to Aleko for blaming   him wrongly.

 

 

就在他俩说话的时候，天下起了雨，迪米特里便呆在阿列科家里避雨，一直等到雨停为止。

 

 

 

During their speaking, it happened to rain, so Dmitry stayed in Aleko’s home to avoid the rain until the rain had stopped.

 

 

 

半小时后，当他从屋里出来时，

 

Half an hour later, as he went out of the   house,

 

他惊奇地发现小黑羔羊全身几乎都变成白色。

 

he was surprised to discover that almost   the whole body of the little black lamb had turn to white.

 

原来羊毛上染的黑色被雨水冲掉了！

 

 

 

So that’s the black colourant on the wool has been flushed by water!
