三名美国女子设计出“新式麻将”！网友看完坐不住了……

        美媒报道称，近日，三名美国女子推出了一款“美国麻将”，却在网上引发争议。

        据悉，这款麻将用英文字母代替了中国汉字，并引入“中世纪现代风”和“新艺术”元素，抹去了所有的中国元素。

        麻将分为“巴黎粉”、“天空蓝”和“霓虹紫”等多种颜色，定价在325美元到425美元不等（约合人民币2000-2700元）。

        作为创始人之一的凯特·拉格尔（Kate LaGere）表示，当初设计这款新式麻将，是因为传统麻将“没有体现出与朋友一起玩的乐趣”，也跟她的风格和个性不搭。

• … the game's traditional tiles "did not reflect the fun that was had when playing with her friends" and did not "come close to mirroring her style and personality," according to an archived version of the company's website.

        然而，看到这款新式麻将的设计，网友们彻底坐不住了：这是啥？配色也太丑了！颠覆了中国文化！

        收到了清一色的差评后，该麻将公司出面道歉称：“（这款麻将的）设计目的是为了吸引新玩家，但我们也承认没有很好地沿袭中国传统。”

• "While our intent is to inspire and engage with a new generation of American mahjong players, we recognize our failure to pay proper homage to the game's Chinese heritage."

        但网友们并不买账，有些亚裔美国人认为，这一举动是文化剽窃。

        美国“内幕消息”（Inside Edition）网站采访了一位在香港长大、目前定居加拿大的网友Yonnie Chan，她表示，“我知道你们想打造自己的风格，但是将其修改得难以辨认就很有问题。麻将起源于中国，不使用（汉字）也反映出你们正在抹去中国文化中不可或缺的部分。”

• "I understand wanting your own custom set, but modifying it to be literally indiscernible is problematic," Yonnie Chan told Inside Edition Digital. Chan grew up in Hong Kong and currently lives in Toronto, Canada. "Not using [Chinese characters] also reflects the fact that you are erasing an integral piece of Chinese culture, which is where this game originated from."

        美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）采访了一位在旧金山唐人街工作的小李（Lee），他说在自己很小的时候，妈妈就教他玩麻将。他认为，麻将已经成为他生活和文化的一部分。

• （麻将）已经有数百年历史和文化，每一张牌都有其含义，而这（新款麻将）完全是对它的无视。”

• "This is a product with hundreds of years of tradition and culture and every piece has a meaning in, and it's just a complete disregard for any of that," he said.

• “每次我们家人聚在一起，我们都会拿出麻将来玩，这是我与自己的文化保持联系的一种方式。

• "Every time my family gets together, we take out the tiles and we play," he said. "It's a way that I stay in touch with my culture."

        美国全国广播公司（NBC）援引俄勒冈大学研究麻将的历史学助理教授安妮莉丝·海因茨（Annelise Heinz）的评论称：

• 尽管麻将的玩法和牌面在世界范围内存在差异，但主要还是沿用中国传统的图案，包括竹节、圆圈、圆点和汉字。

• ……while gameplay and tiles vary worldwide, mahjong sets usually are embossed with references to the traditional Chinese suits, including bamboo, circles or dots, and Chinese characters.

        当然，不是所有外国人都不了解麻将。有网友就翻出麻将忠实粉丝茱莉亚·罗伯茨曾说过的一段话。

        她在参加访谈节目时称，自己每周和朋友吃吃东西、打打麻将就很开心了。她还悟出了麻将中所蕴含的哲学原理：

• （麻将）的原理就是通过随机抓牌，在混乱中创造秩序。

• The concept of it is to create order out of chaos based on random drawing of tiles.

        在一次接受采访时，她还开玩笑说，自己如果活到80多岁的话，可能不会继续演戏，比较想培养另一个兴趣——打麻将！
