Director Shen Ao puts a fast-paced spin on a topical issue to create cinematic success. Within two weeks of its release, No More Bets had leaped ahead of the competition and pulled in more than 2.6 billion yuan(US$355 million) at the box office in China. The story follows a computer programmer(Lay Zhang) and a model(Gina Jin) who are tricked into going abroad for good jobs.But things take a bad turn when they are forced into online fraud by a ruthless gang.

The plot also tells the story of university graduate Tian, played by Wang Dalu, who takes his life after falling prey to online gambling.
