雅思-单词能力1：词汇过万很简单，百词斩就是神器!（雅思阅读9，中英双语）

Vocab ability: it is a piece of cake to master 10000 words or even more and Baicizhan is the almighty weapon~

四篇文章分为四个部分，每篇文章一个部分：

1 百词斩为何是神器？以及我如何做到的（词汇20000左右，雅思阅读满分9分）。

2 记单词的核心逻辑是什么？

3 单词能力（也就是活跃词汇量）的提升；

4 为什么那么多人提升不起来？

There are four sections in four articles and each article for one section:

Number 1, why it is a marvelous weapon and how I made it. (20000 vocabulary and a full mark, band 9 in IELTS reading.)

Number 2, what is the core logic of vocabulary?

Number 3, how to work on vocab capacity.(i.e. active vocab)

Number 4, why so many people can not improve their vocab?

第一部分：神器百词斩

Section 1: Baicizhan, the super weapon先上图：

听到过很多次，无数次，别人说的，群里人提到的，等等之类的。每次我说我用百词斩，总会有一堆人跳出来说这说那，什么没有用如何如何。

I have heard so many times, innumerable times, some people said, some people in some wechat groups mentioned, and suchlike. Every single time that I said I used Baicizhan, there would be a lot of people jumping out telling me this or that, like ‘it is useless’ that sort of thing.  

最开始，还愿意解释一下，慢慢的觉得很累，很多人提升不了是必然的，因为他们看不到事情背后的逻辑。

At the first beginning, I would like to explain it a little bit, but gradually, I started to feel totally tired of it. I was sort of wondering that it is inevitable that many people can not improve themselves, because they can not see the underlying logic behind things.

当然，很抱歉很直白地说，更恐怖的是，他们连去真诚了解的意愿都没有，只会沉醉于类似于：我用了很久了，就是没用。这种自我陶醉和感动中，更有甚者，直言自己学不好仅仅因为没有天赋。

Certainly, feeling so sorry, frankly and straightforwardly speaking, what is more important and terrifying is that they do not even have the willingness to listen with true heart, barely indulging in things such as ‘I have been using it for so long and it is just useless.’this kind of self indulgence and self satisfaction, even worse, some of them would simply claim that they can not make it solely because of having no talent for it instead of anything else affecting them.     

慢慢地，像我一样的所谓快速提升者，失去了跟很多学习者交流和沟通的欲望，尤其是，当我们看到他们闭塞的大脑回路，以及那气势冲天吓人的主观意识。

Slowly and gradually, many fast learners like me, start to lose the desire to communicate and interact with many learners, in particular, when we see their being close-minded and the strong plus frightening stubbornness/subjective consciousness.

Alright, if you can exactly read the following content with an open mind, I do believe that you can learn a lot. On top of that, how much you can learn depends on your cognitive capacity.

回归正题~

Back to the topic of vocab.

有很长一段时间，我早上的第一件事就是百词斩，刷单词，复习1000个左右，大概断断续续1000多天，最近开始少做了，用念文章替换了，为了更有效提升语言能力。

It has been a very long time that the first thing I do in the morning is on Baicizhan, brush up on the words I have already learned, about 1000 ones each day, intermittently, it has been more than 1000 days. Nowadays, I started to replace it with reading articles in order to improve my language ability more effectively.

(最开始的进步速度--大概也就是三个月阅读词汇提升量超过6000+的样子，百词斩是不够准确的--以前听到杠精的回应。这重要吗？这是我传达的重点吗？以及后续的维持和精进。)

但是，诚然，目前来看，百词斩是我用过的单词软件里最高效，且最强大的。中间也试过一些其他软件，但是都不如这个高效。

However, honestly, by now, Baicizhan is the most effective and powerful one in all the apps I have used. During this period of time, I have tried many other apps only to find that they were not as effective as this one.

我们直入正题，为什么最有效？两个原因：1 每日数量可以很高；2 图片培养英语思维。注意，我说的不单单是过单词，还有词汇能力，几乎无可替代。（虽然有些软件开始做了，比如万词王什么的。）

Let’s get straight to the point, why it is the most effective one? Two reasons, one is about the daily amount that you can go over and another is that you can utilize on the pictures to cultivate English thinking, which is almost irreplaceable. (Though some apps are already doing something, like Wanciwang or sth.)

第一，每日数量上限很高。

For one, the daily limit is very high. 

首先，你可以设置到1000个一天，而且如果你几个单词本来回切换，理论上来说，一天可以无限。（我最多的时候一天5000个）

First of all, you can set up to 1000 words every day and if you switch among several vocab books, technically, you can go over countless words each day. （For me, the most I did for each day was 5000 words.）

至于为什么一天可以这么多？你觉得自己做不到？那都是思维以及具体做法的问题。后面的文章中，单词能力那块我会说一下背后的逻辑。

As for why we can go over as many words as that? Or you think that you can not do it? It is all about thinking mode and how you work on it. We will have a quick look at it later in the ability section.

第二，图片培养英语思维。

For another, form English thinking by making the most of the pictures. 

这个事情，长远来看，是无敌的，对于英语提升。尤其是如果你在准备一些涉及真正语言能力的考试，写作的口语的，如雅思托福等。This thing, from the long term, is super meaningful and mighty, for improving English, especially on condition that you are preparing for some tests requiring truly language ability, writing or speaking, such as IELTS, TOFEL and so on.

实际上，这个东西展开说还蛮长的，实在不愿意赘述了。简而言之，就是，所谓的英语思维是什么，就是脑子中不再有翻译的过程，所有的语言直接对应实际内容。

In fact and in practice, it will be quite wordy if we elaborate it, being literally super reluctant to do this now, I would just put it in a very simple way. What I mean here is, the so-called English thinking is realistically having no process of translation in mind and all the words correspond directly to the real content.

如果你理解我说的，那么你离快速进步就非常非常接近了。

You will be extremely close to rapid improvement as long as you do take in what I said just now.

最后，举一隅不以三隅反，则不复也，身心都是。

Finally，you will get stagnant there if you do not step further physically and mentally.

其实单词的一个核心，特别简单，都被说烂了，就是重复。很多人知道，更准确地说，其实只是觉得自己知道。actually one of the cores of vocabulary that is super simple, super stereotypical and banal, having been said for a million times, is exactly repetition. Loads of people have known it, but more precisely, solely thinking that they know it.

这是因为，真正知道的意思是，能够完全做到。（这句话其实带有哲学意味，愿各位自行理解。）
