Have the fag意思是抽烟
fag这里是香烟的意思，除了这个意思外，它还有几个意思：

Be better off(doing sth. be more sensible (to do a particular thing)﹙做某事﹚较为明智:
You’d be better off resting at home with that cold.
（better off还有另外一个意思是“富有的”，well off的比较级）

表面意思是我的喉咙都可以喷出火了，引申为嗓子干的意思。
22.he’s gonna give me the sack.
Give sb. a sack表面意思是收拾东西走人，引申为解雇。除了这个句子外，还有一些表示“解雇”词语，
Get sb./give the push,get/be given the chop(非)，give somebody the boot,lay off,kick out,dismissal。
23.I hope you haven’t dragged me down here on a wild goose chase.我希望你把我拉到这里来不是拜费力气。
