情绪表达：震惊、失望、尴尬

·震惊

①震惊指数:⭐

a flash of surprise  一丝惊讶

eg：I sensed a flash of surprise in his eyes.  我感觉到他眼里的一丝惊讶。

②震惊指数:⭐⭐

freeze with shock  震惊呆了

eg：Hearing the bad news,Mary froze with shock,as if rooted on the ground.  听到这个坏消息，玛丽僵住了，仿佛扎根在地上一般。

③震惊指数:⭐⭐⭐

faint away and fall into unconsciousness  震晕了

So shocked was Mary that she fainted away on the spot and fall into unconsciousness.  玛丽太震惊了，当场晕倒，失去了意识。

·失望

①失望指数：⭐

sb's heart sink  某人心头一沉

in low spirits/in an unpleasant mood  某人心情低落，沮丧

eg：His heart sank when he heard the news that he failed to win a prize.  当听到自己没有获奖的消息时，他内心一沉。

The news that he didn't win the prize immediately threw him into low spirits.  他没获奖的消息瞬间让他情绪低迷。

②失望指数：⭐⭐

overcome with bitter disappointment  被失望压制

eg：Overcome with bitter disappointment at his falling to win a prize,he locked himself up in his room.  没能获奖让他无比失望，他把自己锁在房间里。

③失望指数：⭐⭐⭐

sb feel empty and let down  某人感觉空虚又失望

eg：I feel like all my insides have been drained out and I feel empty and let down.  我感觉我的内在都被榨干了，空虚又失望。

·尴尬

①尴尬指数：⭐

pretend to not have heard or seen  假装没听到也没看到

eg：I just came across my headmaster who farted in the elevator.It's quite embarrassing that I could only pretend to not have heard or seen.  我刚在电梯里碰见校长放屁。太尴尬了我只能假装没听到也没看到。

②尴尬指数：⭐⭐

looking down,unable to meet another's eyes  低下头，没法对视

could not bear to lift one's head and meet the eyes of sb  抬不起头，没法对视

eg：After scoring an own goal,I could not bear to lift my head and meet the eyes of my coach.  进了一个乌龙球后，我头都不敢抬，没法直视教练的眼睛。

③尴尬指数：⭐⭐⭐

glancing about as if for an exit or escape  环顾四周找个逃生口

wish the earth would open up and swallow me  找个地缝钻进去

eg：Mary tripped over and fell down on the catwalk show,glancing about as if for an exit or escape.  玛丽走秀的时候绊了一下摔倒了，她环顾四周，仿佛想找个口逃离当场。
