In article number 2111996, Yi Li, Yuhui He, Xiangshui Miao, and co-workers propose a highly reliable V/VOx/HfWOx/Pt memristor, which delivers reconfigurable resistive and threshold switching. Both synaptic and nonpolar neuronal dynamics are demonstrated on the same device. A nonpolar spiking neural network with doubling coding capability is constructed based on the multifunctional device, while synaptic and neuronal hardware overheads are drastically reduced.

Based on the tactile perception data from the E-skin sensors, a generic approach for real-time detection of unstable robotic grasping is proposed. Accurate detections of unstable grasping in real-time demonstrate great promise for sensors and the detection approach in robotic perception and dexterous manipulation.

By protein engineering and expression in prokaryotic hosts, they have done what spiders cannot do: increase the hydrophobicity and intermolecular interactions of the steric zippers (turquoise) thereby generating stronger artificial spider silk.

In article number 2112621, Nadja C. Bigall and co-workers demonstrate a route to decrease the inter-nanoplatelet distance in polymer encapsulated cadmium chalcogenide nanoplatelet stacks. Thus, certain ligand exchanges are applied to minimize the distance by more than half in the case of CdSe nanoplatelets. Furthermore, the influence of the smaller distance on the charge carrier transfer is analysed by photo-electrochemical measurements.
