mosquito-free park in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu opened to the public on July 30, 2022. To achieve a mozzie-free environment, park authorities installed more than 50 mosquito-hunting machines, which trap the insects by mimicking the levels of carbon dioxide in humans. The park’s landscape design was also adjusted to include fewer trees and flowers that would attract mosquitoes.

That being said, I''m very interested in the CO2 capture aspect of this. What happens to the CO2 that is captured? Could this be implemented in cities to help reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change?

I’ve been to this park… yes, it does have mosquitoes… yes it does have bug catching devices and is advertised as being mosquito free, but it does have them. It’s inevitable, those things are everywhere.
