（中非友谊）初心不变三十余载，风雨兼程驰而不息。此访是在新冠肺炎疫情反复和非洲面临经济、社会、民生多重问题交织的特殊背景下进行的。要在危机中育新机，于变局中开新局。此访既是深耕合作的友谊之旅，又是共迎挑战的开拓之旅。

The original aspiration of China-Africa friendship has remained unchanged for more than 30 years, marched forward regardless of hardship. This visit was taking place against the background of the repeating outbreaks of COVID-19 and and the interweaving of multiple problems facing Africa with regard to economy, social and livelihood. We need to find new opportunities in the crisis and make new progresses in the changing situation. This visit was not only a trip of friendship to deepen cooperation, but also a pioneering trip to jointly meet challenges.
翻译思路解析
（中非友谊）初心不变三十余载，风雨兼程驰而不息。
The original aspiration of China-Africa friendship has remained unchanged for more than 30 years, marched forward regardless of hardship.
「初心」一词在这里指“最初的愿望，最初的追求”，可用original aspiration表示，original一词表示existing form the beginning, first or earliest,即「最初的，原来的」，
「不变」即“保持不变状态”，remain unchanged,remain一词是非常有用的一个系动词，表示“保持（某状态）不变”之意，看几个例子：她的疑问仍未得到解答。/Her question remains unanswered. 她是否幸存直到今天仍是个秘密。Whether she is alive remains a secret to this day.
「三十余载」：用for＋一段时间表示，for more than 30 years.「余」一词表示“（数量）超过”之意，除了用more than和over放在数词前，也可以用后缀-odd表示，比如：二十余年：twenty-odd years;50多英镑：50-odd pounds.
「风雨兼程驰而不息」:“风雨”形容苦难，“不息”是指初心不变，向前发展。因此，这句文绉绉的话核心意思是“不论艰难险阻，这份初心一直在向前发展”，marched forward regardless of hardship，march forward即向前发展。「」「」
此访是在新冠肺炎疫情反复和非洲面临经济、社会、民生多重问题交织的特殊背景下进行的。

「此访进行/发生」：This visit was taking place，
「在...的背景之下」：用固定短语against the background/backdrop of...表示，也可以用介词amid或amidst,这两个介词意思相同，其中有个英文释义为in an atmosphere or against a background of...，即“在...背景或氛围下”。
「在新冠肺炎疫情反复和非洲面临经济、社会、民生多重问题交织的特殊背景下」：在这几天的翻译挑战中，我反复强调中文先分后总，英文喜欢先总后分，因此，汉译英时我们先处理“背景”一词，再列举具体方面，「特殊背景」中“特殊”一词省译，因为其后的问题交织在一起，足以说明背景之特殊。
「新冠肺炎疫情反复」：在谈到疾病因素时，往往可在前加上the outbreak of...（某某疾病）的爆发，表明疾病的来势汹汹，再加上“反复”一词，在outbreaks前加上了repeating；
「非洲面临经济、社会、民生多重问题交织」：这里的“多重问题交织”，先翻译成he interweaving of multiple problems，后加上两个修饰语：①非洲面临的，facing Africa;②与经济、社会、民生有关的:with regard to economy, social and livelihood.
要在危机中育新机，于变局中开新局。
We need to find new opportunities in the crisis and make new progresses in the changing situation. 典型的无主语句，先在前面增译主语we。
「育新机」：这里的“育”在参考译文中处理为“发现”，合起来就是find new opportunities in the crisis；
「于变局中开新局」make new progresses in the changing situation，其中，「开新局」除了译为make new progresses,亦可处理为make a breakthrough。
此访既是深耕合作的友谊之旅，又是共迎挑战的开拓之旅。
This visit was not only a trip of friendship to deepen cooperation, but also a pioneering trip to jointly meet challenges.
「深耕合作的友谊之旅」:中心词为「友谊之旅」，a trip of friendship,后接不定式表目的：to deepen cooperation,也可处理为for deepening cooperation或者for further cooperation。
「共迎挑战的开拓之旅」：「开拓之旅」为a pioneering trip，
「共迎挑战」jointly meet challenges，jointly为副词，可表示“共同”做某事，迎接挑战用的是地道短语meet challenges.
翻译点睛
「开拓者」在英文中有哪些对应表达？
我们知道，「开拓者」一词是用来指那些发现未知土地的人，是某个领域的先驱，那么这个词在英文中有哪些对应表达呢？
译为pioneer，指a person who is among the first to research and develop a new area of knowledge or activity,比如a famous pioneer of birth control，一位著名的节育先驱，此外，该名词还可作为名词修饰语，表示“开创性的”，如a pioneer study.
译为trailblazer，来源于动词词组blaze a trail for...为...开辟道路，来看一个例句：He was a trailblazer for many ideasthat are now standard fare. /他是众多新奇想法的开创者。
译为pacesetter，这个词原本指“跑步比赛中的领跑者”，后引申为“排头兵；先驱者”，英文释义为a person or organization viewed as taking the lead or setting standards of achievements for others. 例：Alaska is the pacesetter when it comes to salaries for teachers.在教师薪酬这一块，阿拉斯加扮演着排头兵的角色。
