China donates another 1.6 million Sinopharm vaccine doses

 China donated another 1.6 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccines to Sri Lanka.The consignmentof the vaccines arrived at the Katunayake International Airport onboard Sri Lankan Airlines flights at 5.30 am yesterday. The stock of vaccines was handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s Office  by the Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhen Hong together with a stock of syringes.

中国又向斯里兰卡捐赠了160万剂国药控股疫苗。这批疫苗已于昨日凌晨5时30分由斯里兰卡航空公司航班运抵卡图纳亚克国际机场。中国驻联合国大使齐振宏在总统办公室向拉贾帕克萨总统转交了一批疫苗和一批注射器。

This stock of vaccines was thereafter handed over to the health authorities for the  inoculation of persons over the age of 30 in the North-East.

这批疫苗随后移交给卫生当局，供东北地区30岁以上的人接种。

The Sinopharm vaccines constitute 72% of the country’s vaccines administered so far.

迄今为止，国药控股的疫苗占全国疫苗管理总量的72%。

President Rajapaksa thanked the Chinese Government for their immense support in boosting Sri lanka’s vaccination drive having donated 2.7 million doses so far.

拉贾帕克萨总统感谢中国政府对斯里兰卡疫苗接种事业的大力支持，迄今已捐赠270万剂疫苗。

On March 31 Sri Lanka received 600,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, while another 500,000 doses was received on May 26th and 1.6 million doses was received yesterday.

在3月31号，斯里兰卡收到了60万剂国药疫苗援助，另外50万剂在3月26日接收，昨天接到160万剂。

The President expressed confidence that all eligible persons over 30 could be vaccinated by the end of August, adding that tourism activities could resume by September.

总统表示有信心所有30岁以上符合条件的人可以在8月底前接种疫苗，并补充说旅游活动可以在9月前恢复。

Therefore, he invited Chinese tourists to visit Sri Lanka once the country is opened to tourists.

因此，一旦斯里兰卡向游客开放，他将邀请中国游客到斯里兰卡旅游。

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda, President’s Secretary P.B. Jayasundara, President’s Chief Advisor Lalith Weeratunge, Foreign Ministry Secretary Admiral Jayanath Kolombage, Political Officer of the Chinese Embassy Luo Chong and several others participated.

卫生部长Pavithra Wanniarachchi、渔业部长Douglas Devananda、总统秘书P.B. Jayasundara、总统首席顾问Lalith Weeratunge、外交部秘书Jayanath Kolombage、中国大使馆政治专员Luo Chong等参加了会议。
